Frequency converters are used to extend the coverage of receiving systems beyond the 0.5-18 GHz frequency range. EDO RSS’s upconverters are available for extending the frequency range to the 20-500 MHz frequency band; our downconverters are available to extend frequency coverage to 18-40 GHz. Most downconverters use phase-locked local oscillators to preserve the high fidelity and low phase noise of the entire receiving system.
