EDO RSS is the world’s leading supplier of microwave tuners, demodulators, up/down converters, and radio frequency distributions. We have more than 900 microwave tuners operating in the field, providing ELINT/ESM operators with the tools required to handle modern sophisticated signals.

EDO RSS combines these equipments to provide receiver systems ranging from small, single channel systems to multi-operator, multi-channel systems. These systems feature excellent control/display features and well-designed human machine interfaces, such as RS-422, EthernetTM, fiber optic, and VersanetTM.

VersanetTM is EDO RSS' adaptation of Ethernet that allows a large number of units to communicate on an Ethernet Local Area Network (LAN) by using Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) protocol. This allows the system operator the flexibility to attach any number of receivers, antennas, and controllers to the LAN with a minimum of recabling and reconfiguring while maintaining the real-time nature of the system. This architecture, which has been deployed since 1992, results in a simple interconnection implementation and weight savings.
